Report from the Winter Retreat

As Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche wrote in the daily reminder practice The Nectar of the Path, “The suffering of beings is mainly produced by the mind. I must free myself from my self-created bonds.” In early January about ninety retreatants gathered in wintry Middleton, Wisconsin to learn and practice how to do just that.

Khenpo Kunga led the annual Path of Liberation winter retreat, Non-Dual Awareness: Mahamudra and the View of the Mind-Only School. Khenpo deftly wove together teachings on the nature of awareness and Tibetan Buddhist philosophy in a way that was not only illuminating but fun. Khenpo was assisted by two translators, Cortland Dahl and John Dunne, which was a great benefit to those in attendance. The entire team of instructors, retreat managers, and volunteers made the retreat an enriching and memorable experience for all.

You can learn more about the Mind-Only School as part of the Vajrayana Online course, Exploring Reality. You can also listen to a series of Exploring Reality talks by Cortland Dahl and John Dunne on the Tergar SoundCloud channel.
